Terms of Use

These terms apply to Flippto at flippto.com and the short links at flipp.to. Short version: design your previews, share your links, only use content you are allowed to use, and do not mislead people about where a link goes. By using Flippto you accept these terms.

1. Provider

2. The service

Flippto creates short links (“Flipps”) with a preview image you design. When a Flipp is shared, apps and social networks show your preview; opening it leads to the original destination. With an account you can also edit Flipps before you share them, organise them in collections, keep an image library, follow people and show a public profile with simple stats.

Flippto is currently free. Without an account you can create a limited number of Flipps per month. A paid Pro plan is in preparation; its features and price will be announced before launch, and nothing is charged without your explicit order. We may change, extend or discontinue features. We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee it.

3. Account

• You must be of legal age in your country to create an account. If you are not, you need the permission of a parent or guardian. If you use Flippto for a company, you confirm that you may act on its behalf.
• Your details must be accurate, and you are responsible for keeping access to your email and password secure. One account per person; accounts may not be passed on.
• Your username must not impersonate other people, brands or organisations or infringe their rights.
• You can delete your account at any time in the settings. What happens to your data is described in the privacy policy.

4. Your content

You remain the owner of the images, texts and links you add (“your content”) and are responsible for them. You confirm that you have the necessary rights, for example to photos of other people, logos, brands and artwork, and that your content does not break the law.

To run Flippto, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, adapt (for example resize, re-encode, crop) and publicly display your content as part of your Flipps and your profile, for as long as it is on Flippto. This licence covers only operating and presenting the service, not other purposes such as advertising with your content. Other users may see your public content and, with the features of Flippto, share your Flipps and use them as a starting point for their own Flipp (Reflipp).

Shared Flipps keep working: a Flipp that has been opened or shared cannot be changed any more, because people may already have seen it. If you remove it from your profile or delete your account, its link keeps working for the people you sent it to, without a connection to you. If you need a shared Flipp taken offline completely, for example for legal reasons, contact us.

5. What is not allowed

Do not use Flippto to create or share:

• illegal content, including content that infringes copyright, trademarks, personality or privacy rights;
• sexually explicit content, depictions of violence, hate, harassment or threats;
• any content that sexualises or endangers minors;
• deceptive Flipps: previews that pretend to be a different sender, brand or destination in order to mislead people, phishing, fraud, fake giveaways;
• links to malware, phishing or other harmful or illegal content;
• spam or mass-generated Flipps;
• manipulated numbers, for example views, shares or followers through bots or fake accounts.

Do not interfere with the operation of Flippto, for example through automated mass requests, circumventing limits, bot checks or other security measures, or unauthorised access to systems or accounts. Automated reading of Flippto (scraping) is only allowed for public search engines or with our permission.

6. Reports and moderation

Every preview image is checked automatically. Images that are flagged are pixelated until we have reviewed them. Destinations are checked against known phishing and malware sites; such links cannot be flipped, and existing Flipps are paused. Flipps reported for scam, phishing or malware are paused until we have checked them. Anyone can report a Flipp or profile via the report function or by email to info@flippto.com; please describe what is wrong and why. We review reports promptly and carefully.

If content violates the law or these terms, we may hide it, remove images, disable Flipps or restrict or close accounts, depending on the severity. If we take such a decision about your content, we will tell you, where possible, what we did and why, and you can object by email; we will then look at it again. Your rights to go to court remain unaffected.

7. Ending the use

You can stop using Flippto at any time and delete your account in the settings. We may suspend or close accounts in the case of serious or repeated violations of these terms; where possible and appropriate, we will warn you first. We may also discontinue Flippto; in that case we will inform account holders in good time in advance.

8. Links to other websites

Flipps lead to websites of third parties. We do not check these websites and are not responsible for their content; responsibility lies with whoever created the Flipp and with the operator of the website. If we become aware of illegal content, we disable the Flipp.

9. Liability

We provide Flippto with care but without guarantee of availability or that every preview is displayed in every app. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer protection rights remain unaffected. We are not responsible for disputes between users.

You are liable for your content. If third parties make claims against us because of your content, you indemnify us, unless you are not at fault.

10. Intellectual property

The name Flippto, the logo, design, texts and code of Flippto are protected. Stickers and graphics we provide may be used within Flippto for your Flipps.

11. Other tools on this domain (Visa Calculator)

For a transitional period, flippto.com also hosts free tools such as the Visa Calculator and its connector for AI assistants (mcp.flippto.com). They require no account. Results are calculated automatically from the data you enter and are for guidance only: they are not legal advice and are not binding for any authority; for binding information, use for example the European Commission short-stay calculator; entry decisions are made by border officials. If you use a tool through an AI assistant, the assistant decides which data it sends and how it presents the result, and its provider's terms also apply. These tools will move to their own website; this section will then be removed.

12. Privacy

How we process data is described in our privacy policy.

13. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms, for example when Pro launches. We will inform account holders of significant changes in good time in advance; changes apply from then on, and the version published here applies. We may transfer this agreement to a company that continues Flippto; we will inform account holders in advance, and you can delete your account at any time. If a provision is invalid, the rest of these terms remain valid. Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction for businesses is Vienna; for consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies (§ 14 Austrian Consumer Protection Act).
